In 2007, a peculiar sight appeared in the middle of the Sonoran Desert in Arizona: a grand piano.

British artist Luke Jerram had carefully placed the piano there as part of his art project called "Play Me, I'm Yours."

The piano was fully functional, despite being in such a harsh environment.

For three weeks, the piano remained in the desert, inviting anyone who passed by to play it.

Hikers, photographers, and curious locals made special trips to see and play the desert piano.

Some played classical music, while others played simple melodies.

The contrast between the refined musical instrument and the wild desert landscape created powerful images that spread worldwide.

Since then, Jerram has placed over 2,000 pianos in public spaces across 65 cities globally, encouraging strangers to connect through music.
